Armored Fuel Cells
ARM has been providing armored fuel cells to the U.S. military,
The U.S. State Department and private security firms for more than
30 years. We can provide fuel cells with ballistic protection up
to NIJ Level III protection, self-sealing / healing fuel cells or
any combination of the two. Our unique four-stage approach allows
us to provide protection based on the threat level. All of our armored
fuel cells include explosion resistant safety baffling foam that
minimizes the potential for an explosion in the unlikely event the fuel
cell is penetrated by a projectile. We have provided fuel cells for
the MRAP, JLTV and Cheetah platforms currently deployed in Irag and
Afghanistan and are currently working on designs for prototype light
attack vehicles to be used by U.S. Special Forces teams.
ARM-USA's full line of armored and self-sealing bladders have protected U.S. and foreign dignitaries for more that 30 years. Our Stage I, II, III and IV levels of protection allow you to tailor your system around a specific level of threat.
- Stage I systems provides full safety foam baffling for any vehicles fuel tank and will prevent an explosion in the event a fuel cell is penetrated by small arms fire.
- Stage II systems add a rubberized coating to the fuel cell that acts as a semi-self sealing membrane around the fuel tank. It also includes a coating of tank guard that provides a superior degree of abrasion resistance and prevents damage to the sealing membrane from road debris.
- Stage III systems build on the Stage II protections by adding multiple layers of ballistic fabric armor and two more layers of seal sealing rubber coating to the tank. The Stage III system also includes the tank guard coating.
- Stage IV systems have all the components a Stage III but add a layer of proprietary self-sealing material that can close entry and exit wounds in the fuel tank, allowing the vehicle to exit the kill zone and proceed to a safe rally point.
